What is involved in getting a corporate identity?

If you require a logo, we will firstly sit down and map out a “brief” for your corporate identity. Where will the logo be seen? Who is your target audience? Would you like to see certain colours used in the logo? Do you have a theme or style in mind? Do you have any samples of other logos you like? Will you need anything outsourced through me such as printing, signage or website development?

If we can not meet face to face, we will talk over email to establish a brief. The design progressions will be done via email. I will send you pdf "proofs" to look at and make changes to, or approve. Depending on the jobs required, once a job is approved I will either send through all of the finished artwork to you or send it through to printers, sign writers or web developers.

Once a brief has been established, I will design a few “mock-ups” for your logo. From these we will make a few changes back and forth until you are 110% in love with the image that will be representing your business! Then I will apply that to a business card design and what ever else is needed for your business.

A logo and corporate identity design usually takes between 5 to 8 hours. Each job will be different with some designs being more involved than others and more designs needed for shop fronts or brochures etc. This process will take place over a week or more. After a brief is established, I will put together the first initial mock ups for you, over a few days. Then we will make some changes back and forth, along with finalising the business cards and signage etc.

Any copy for brochures or business cards needs to be finalised and approved by the client before it is added into a design by me. I will not take responsibility for any information that is not correct, if provided by the client.

Once all changes are approved the client will need to “sign off” on a job before it is finalised on my end, and all finished art work is handed over to the client. This is usually done with a signature on a finished proof or stating in an email that “all artwork is correct and approved for completion”

What is involved in getting other design work?

Whether you are after a poster for a one off event, invitation, illustration or brochure; the process is always the same. We will talk about it first and develop a brief for the job. Then I will put something together for you. Then we will spend some time making changes and getting it perfect. Then once its approved, depending on the job at hand, it will be put into final production.

Who owns the design?

While a design is being produced, the design belongs to me; the creator. Once the design is finalised and paid for it is yours. If design work is required in the future, the same hourly rate applies. I will provide you with files needed for websites, email signatures and finished artwork for business cards, letterheads and anything else agreed upon in a brief. Although there is an additional fee if the working file is required.
